We will have more babies born late June and July!
![]() A peanut is a bunny that received a dwarf gene from both parents. Two dwarf genes results in a bunny that cannot survive. They usually only survive a couple of days. Peanuts are easily identified because they are much smaller than their siblings. Their siblings pass them up in size and weight quickly. It is very rare for one to live to open their eyes. A dwarf Holland Lop bunny usually ranges in size from 2 to 4 pounds. Dwarfs have tiny proportions. All dwarfs carry one copy of the dwarf gene. A false dwarf Holland Lop bunny could weight a little more, maybe 3 to 5 pounds. They usually have larger back feet and longer ears. If you are interested and would like to read more about the Dwarf gene, you can do so here. This article is great at explaining in more detail. Gamora is Hermione's daughter. She has just recently come back to live in our barn. She came to use very pregnant. She adjusted pretty good for the first few days, then got super grouchy. That's how we knew she really was pregnant.
I caught her today pulling hair and building her nest. Sure enough, she had her babies! I was out there, watching, but giving her space. She had 5 little babies. One might be a peanut, or a runt. I am not sure yet. I am hoping she is a great mom, so far so good! I know everyone will start messaging me about this litter, especially the brokens. For now, none are available. We have to see if she really is a good mom and takes care of them. I also have a wait list that I will start with first. This litter is not full pedigreed, just half on the mom's side. I am going through the wait list contacting people in order. Keeping a wait list always seems like a good idea until you see how many people change their mind. Slow responses are a normal thing too. I know many of you are waiting to get the message from me, but I do try to go in order. If you receive a message please respond quickly. It's hard for me when I have multiple people asking if it's their turn yet. A simple "I'm sorry, we are no longer interested" or "I'd prefer to wait for a different color" or even "I am interested, but will have to look at pictures later since I'm at work" will do. :) I do not like to skip over anyone on my wait list. I am hoping to get all these babies adopted this weekend.
Facebook is cracking down on animal adoptions. I will continue to use facebook to post pictures and updates, along with messaging to communicate with everyone. Pricing and adoption information will be found on my website.
We now have just 1 blue eyed white buck available for Easter. He is super sweet and pretty good at the litter box already. He is ready for a $50 deposit to put him on hold. The remaining $50 is due at pickup. We have 2 blue eyed white bucks available May 6th. They are ready for $50 deposits to put them on hold. The remaining $50 is due at pickup.
I had a wait list of 7 who wanted blue eyed whites so I bred Luna and Draco again. Well... only one person actually wanted to reserve a baby. I now have these 5 available for adoption. Bellatrix and Draco also produced blue eyed whites. I was hoping for some vm blacks or other colors, but BEWs is what we got! If you would like a baby for Easter message me! 5 will be ready April 19th, the other 3 ready May 6th. Does are $125, bucks are $100. The younger 3 gender will be checked again in a week.
